Moving away from the seniors for a moment, we saw a pair of future Juventus stars shine for Italy’s Under-21s over the break.

Both Nicolo Fagioli and Nicolo Rovella, who will join the club from Genoa in the summer, were excellent for the Azzurrini in their 1-0 victory over Bosnia. Rovella crashed home his first international goal which proved to be the winner.

The young midfield tandem combined excellently throughout, with their marvellous chemistry on full display. They seem to have already established a telepathic relationship with each player so appreciative of the other’s movement, the spaces they occupy and their willingness to combine over short distances.

Along with teenager Fabio Miretti, who helped Italy’s Under-19s into this summer’s European Championships by scoring and assisting in a 2-0 victory over Belgium, Fagioli and Rovella could eventually lead a midfield revolution in Turin.

Get excited, folks. These kids are majestic.
