Juventus have confirmed the contract renewal of Juan Cuadrado, who will now remain in Turin until 2023.
Cuadrado was one of five Juventus players whose contract was set to expire in the summer. The club have already opted against extending Paulo Dybala to a lucrative new deal, while they recently agreed to terms with backup goalkeeper Mattia Perin.
Mattia De Sciglio is also poised to extend his stay with the Bianconeri. Although, the future of Federico Bernardeschi is still in doubt.
Juventus confirm that Juan Cuadrado has extended his Juventus contract until 2023
It’s been another productive year for Cuadrado following his ten-assist campaign in Serie A last season. The Colombian veteran has eight league goal contributions this season and has become a key figure in the second iteration of Massimiliano Allegri’s Juve.
Thus, the Bianconeri needed to extend Cuadrado, which they were able to do after he reached 40 appearances for the season last weekend at Cagliari.
Confirming his extension, Juventus said: “Indissoluble. An adjective that describes something that cannot be brought to an end, cannot be undone or broken.
“The relationship that binds Juventus to Cuadrado and Juan to the black and white jersey is all in this word. Something strong, which goes beyond the field of play, goes beyond the surface. A bond that continues until 2023.”
The Colombian has made 262 appearances for Juventus and won five Scudetti since he initially joined from Chelsea on a two-year loan in 2015. Cuadrado eventually joined the club permanently in 2017 following a brilliant start to life in Turin.
“Since his arrival at Juve, no one has delivered the crucial final ball as often as him. What’s more, this season, he has already found the net on five occasions, equalling his personal best from seasons 2015/16 and 2017/18,” Juve continued.
“Juan is unique, irreplaceable.
“And it’s great we’re staying together, Panita!” they concluded.
