Angel Di Maria has emerged as a potential replacement for Paulo Dybala when his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer.

Juventus are well underway in their bid to mitigate the impending loss of La Joya, who will leave Turin as a free agent in June. The likes of Giacomo Raspadori and Nicolo Zaniolo have been discussed as domestic alternatives, while Ajax’s Antony is an option from overseas.

However, the differing profiles of these targets suggest that the Bianconeri don’t have a concrete plan in place. Replacing Dybala, who’s notched the most goal contributions (15) in Serie A for Juve this season, will be no easy feat.

Juventus have opened talks with Angel Di Maria’s entourage over a possible summer move

A new possibility is PSG’s Di Maria, who’s set to leave the French capital as a free agent this summer. According to Sky Italy, Juventus have “probed” the idea of bringing Dybala’s compatriot to Turin by opening talks with the player’s entourage.

Sky add that Massimiliano Allegri’s idea for next season is to transition to a 4-3-3 with a new addition partnering Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa in a fearsome front three. The Argentine, although capable off both flanks, would play off the right if he was to join.

34-year-old Di Maria has continued to play at a high level this season, showing no signs of decline. He’s notched nine goal contributions in Ligue 1 having registered a staggering 18 assists in all competitions in 2020/21.

However, Juventus are also intrigued by former Ajax winger David Neres. The Brazilian, who now plays for Shakhtar Donetsk, impressed all those years ago as the young Amsterdammers knocked Juve out of the Champions League amid a fairytale run to the semi-finals of the competition in 2019.

It’s understood that Neres would be allowed to depart Shakhtar on the cheap due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
