Explosive winger Jeremy Doku has re-emerged as a transfer target for Juventus after the club were linked with a move for the Belgian in 2020.

Doku is unlike any player the Bianconeri currently boast in their ranks and their interest in the Rennes man suggests that Juve are intent on diversifying their attack once Paulo Dybala leaves Turin this summer.

La Joya will depart as a free agent at the end of the season, and several names, including Giacomo Raspadori and Nicolo Zaniolo, have been linked with replacing the Argentine. However, Juve are also set to see the back of Federico Bernardeschi this summer and they already gave away Dejan Kulusevski to Tottenham in January.

Thus, reinforcements in wide areas are necessary.

Juventus are looking to sign a winger this summer & Jeremy Doku has re-emeged as an option for the Bianconeri

According to the reliable Mirko Di Natale, Doku has popped up on Juventus’ transfer radar once more after they enquired about the Belgian during negotiations with Rennes over Daniele Rugani’s loan in 2020.

The 19-year-old is an electric talent who manifested his explosive brilliance during the Euro 2020 quarter-final between Belgium and Italy. However, Doku is still incredibly raw and injuries have already blighted his promising young career. Five separate issues have seen him miss 30 games this season.

The teenager requires nurturing and refinement if he’s ever going to blossom into a star at a top club, but I like the idea of him providing cover for Federico Chiesa and learning from the indefatigable Italian. Like Chiesa, Doku is adept off both flanks and is capable of beating his man with a freakish burst of speed.

For the right price, this could be an inspired move from Juventus, who have looked so one-paced and monotone in Chiesa’s absence this season. However, Doku is merely on the club’s radar at this stage.
