This would’ve been a landslide hadn’t Danilo struggled so much against Sassuolo’s crafty creators.

His 5.5 rating for that display, which improved thanks to a return to right-back to close out the game, brought his average for April down to 6.5 having started all five of Juventus’ games.

Previously labelled as a “champion” by his manager, the versatile Brazilian has swiftly become one of the first names on the team sheet after he returned from a long-term injury earlier this year.

Juve’s midfield woes have forced him to start three games in the middle of the park, but his two best performances of the month – vs Bologna and Fiorentina – both came when deployed in the unfamiliar function.

We’ve seen Danilo at his dependable and versatile best this month, and he’s fully deserving of his first Old Juve Player of the Month award.
