Juventus vs Inter Milan preview: How to watch the Coppa Italia final on TV, team news & prediction
The fourth Derby d’Italia of the 2021/22 campaign sees Juventus and Inter Milan battle it out in the Coppa Italia final.
Juve are yet to taste victory over the Scudetto-chasing Nerazzurri this term. They were beaten in February’s Supercoppa Italiana and the most recent Serie A fixture after drawing the opening encounter of the season last October.
Wednesday’s clash will be the first time these two sides meet in the Coppa Italia final since 1965.
Juventus reached the competition’s showpiece event thanks to a 3-0 aggregate victory over Fiorentina in the semi-finals. Inter, meanwhile, progressed at the expense of their crosstown rivals via the same scoreline following a comfortable second leg triumph.
Simone Inzaghi’s side head into the bout with their Scudetto aspirations still intact. They were forced to come from behind to beat Empoli on Friday evening as Juventus, who are playing for very little in the league, succumbed to a late Genoa comeback.
With Champions League qualification already grasped, Wednesday’s final is a huge game for Massimiliano Allegri and the Bianconeri. Surely they can’t go winless against their fiercest rivals this season?

Juventus Team News
Juve have been handed a huge boost ahead of Wednesday’s final with Manuel Locatelli returning to full fitness. The Italian midfielder hasn’t seen the field since April’s Derby d’Italia thanks to a knee injury.
He should start in midfield with the young Fabio Miretti dropping down to the bench.
Mattia Perin is expected to continue in goal with Giorgio Chiellini partnering Matthijs de Ligt at centre-back. Danilo will return at right-back with Juan Cuadrado playing further upfield.
Weston McKennie is unlikely to feature, while Federico Chiesa and Kaio Jorge are both still missing.
Inter Milan Team News
Simone Inzaghi has little to worry about on the injury front for Wednesday’s game with Alessandro Bastoni expected to return to full training on Monday.
The Italian defender endured a brief absence due to a calf issue.
Thus, Inter should be at full strength for the final.

Prediction
Despite falling away at Bologna two weeks ago, Inter look to have rediscovered their groove down the stretch and their resurgence was ignited by their gritty victory in April’s Derby d’Italia.
All the signs point towards an Inter victory on Wednesday. They’re simply a better side who’ll be able to exert total control on the contest. However, Juventus have run them close on three occasions this season, and I expect another tight encounter in the Coppa Italia final.
Locatelli’s return is huge for the Bianconeri, and Max Allegri has the chance to deploy not only a pretty well-balanced XI, but a forward-thinking and dynamic one, also. Dusan Vlahovic can’t be left isolated against Inter’s imperious back three, and Juve must retain a threat in transition throughout if they’re to have any success.
While Inter are distinctly superior, this is such a tough one to call. I wouldn’t be surprised if it went all the way to penalties.
Prediction: Juventus 1-1 Inter Milan (AET – Juventus to win on penalties)
