After the weekend’s stretch of matches, Juventus moved up to second in the table after securing a win against Udinese.

Juventus needed late heroics to secure their 8th straight Serie A victory in a row. The combined heroics of Danilo and Federico Chiesa helped Juve secure the win they needed to keep pressure on Napoli and AC Milan. On the flip side, Inter drew against a weak Monza side which gave Juve a bit of a cushion between them and the 4th-place position.

At the top of the table, Napoli returned to their winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Sampdoria. Once again, Napoli looked extremely dynamic in possession and strong in the attack. In a strong matchup with major implications for the table, AC Milan and Roma played to a 2-2 draw. With these results, Napoli keeps their spot at the top of the table and Milan dropped to third. Lazio, holding the 5th spot in the table, drew with Empoli.

At the end of the weekend, 4 of the teams in the top 6 ended up drawing which is good news for Juventus who came away with a victory.

Any opportunity to walk away from a weekend full of matches with an improved position is good for the club. Looking ahead, Juventus will take on Napoli this coming Friday with a chance to close the gap at the top of the table.
