According to CalcioMercato and JuveFC.com, Zinedine Zidane may be interested in coaching Juventus next year.

The former French midfielder has been out of a job for a few years now. Most people speculated that he was waiting for the opportunity to coach the French National Team. This changed, however, when Didier Deschamps, the current national team manager, renewed his contract. Since then, there has been a ton of speculation as to where Zidane would end up.

Recently, Zidane was offered a number of different manager positions. Most of these were international jobs including the opportunity to coach the United States Men’s National Team. Zidane rejected all of these offers leading to more questions about his next stop. Zidane may be waiting for a club job that could open up at the end of the season.

Max Allegri currently manages the club but Zinedine Zidane should be his replacement at the end of the season regardless of how the next few weeks go.

This news of Zidane’s interest in the club comes while Juventus is riding an 8-game winning streak under Max Allegri. To be fair, Max Allegri’s job was in doubt a few months ago. Juventus had fallen out of the Champions League and was in a poor position in the Serie A table. Since then, he has done a masterful job of navigating Juventus through various injury concerns. Allegri saved his job for the moment.

If Juve is looking to the future, it might be in their best interest to bring Zidane in to manage the club. Allegri succeeded in winning many trophies for Juventus but he has never lifted the Champions League trophy. This is the ultimate goal for any club in Europe but even more so for a powerhouse like Juve.

Zidane, on the other hand, has won three Champions League trophies and may be able to attract some of the top talents in the world to Turin. If Juve’s new board of directors is interested in getting started on the right foot, it might be worth it to explore bringing the Frenchmen in at the expense of Allegri.
