3 players Juventus needs to game-plan for against Napoli
By Nick Belotto
Kvaratskhelia has been a revelation for Napoli this season.
Many people were worried that the departure of Lorenzo Insigne would lead to a drop-off in attacking play for Napoli. Kvaratskhelia’s play has made most people forget all about Insigne.
The 21-year-old Georgian is a creative and dynamic winger who has been an incredible addition to the squad. He is an incredible dribbler and great in open spaces. He currently has 6 goals on the season in Serie A which is a testament to his scoring capabilities. He’s also an avid passer, notching 5 assists on the season so far.
Overall, Kvartskhelia is a dynamic playmaker and his movement with and without the ball makes him a very dangerous player.
Juventus will have to rely on its Brazilian defense and wingers to keep a body in front of Kvaratskhelia. The likes of Adrien Rabiot, Federico Chiesa, and Weston McKennie will need to do a good job occupying passing lanes, and taking away outlet options for Kvaratskhelia.
Kvaratskhelia also likes to push upfield when he doesn’t have the ball. Danilo and Sandro will need to make sure to keep themselves in front of him. They can not let him get behind them or be unprepared for his runs upfield. He is dynamic in these spots and incredibly dangerous. If Kvaratskhelia breaks down the defense, he could easily find Osimhen for a quality shot on goal.
It will be hard for them to stop him completely, but making his life harder is doable.
