It has been a long road for Amanda Nilden this season.

After picking up a fracture in her foot in a match against Fiorentina in October, Nilden is finally close to returning to the pitch for the club. The Swedish fullback’s season was shortened, but her time at Juventus is not over yet. Amanda Nilden has signed an extension with Juventus Women through June of 2025.

The 24-year-old defender has been essential to the club since joining in 2021.

Her first season with the club ended in 18 matches played with 12 starts for the black and white. Nilden led all defenders in progressive carries, passes blocked, and tackles in the attacking 3rd, making her presence known on all parts of the pitch. Nilden and the Juventus club experienced great success in her first season.

Amanda Nilden’s second season was off to a hot start.

Before getting injured, Nilden started all 8 matches for Juve. The Swedish fullback started the season doubling her offensive numbers from last season through less than half the matches, tallying 2 goals and 2 assists. The club asked for Nilden to make a switch across the pitch and the Swedish defender’s move was seamless.

Per game improvements in many categories including; passing distance covered, tackles, tackle percentage, ball recoveries, fouls drawn, and aerials won to name a few, show Nilden’s potential to continue to be a staple in Juve’s defense for years to come.

We look forward to Amanda Nilden’s future with the black and white and for her to return soon, to assist in the club’s championship run.
