Max Allegri may be on his way out of Turin soon.

Juventus is looking at making some major moves this summer. According to reports, one of those decisions will be focused on Max Allegri’s future. According to Goal.com, Juventus will be considering the manager’s future sooner rather than later.

There is nothing really surprising about this decision. Juventus has had a bad season by their standards and has struggled to overcome some of the issues that plague the team off the pitch.

On the pitch, Allegri’s squad has struggled all season. Outside of a nice run at the end of 2022 and into early 2023, they generally looked outmatched by top-tier opponents. They struggled to score goals consistently and the team was knocked out of not one, but two European competitions. For a team that strives for Champions League titles, this season has been an utter disappointment.

Allegri should not shoulder all of the blame for this. His team has endured a number of injuries to star players like Paul Pogba, Federico Chiesa, and Dusan Vlahovic, just to name a few. Juve’s roster consists of a lot of older players. Some of them look like they may not be capable of playing for top-tier teams anymore at this point in their careers. That roster construction is not all on Allegri but that doesn’t excuse him from blame.

Max Allegri’s tactics have been confusing all season. His team has struggled to play defensively and can’t generate attacking chances at consistent levels.

It’s easy to sympathize with him considering the craziness off the pitch. However, he is responsible for the product on it and needs to be held accountable for poor performance.

Sacking Allegri would be a good thing for Juventus as the team is in need of a fresh restart. They need to clean house a bit, move on from some older players, and bring in more young, dynamic talent if they want to compete for Serie A titles again. That “spring cleaning” must start with Allegri. Juve can then bring in a young, talented manager to pair with a new wave of young talented players. This is the best way to bring Juve back to the top of Europe.
