Juventus’ disappointing season has finally come to a close.

Juve won their final match of the season yesterday 1-0 against Udinese. The Bianconeri did their job, securing a valuable three points, only to lose out on European competition because of the results of Roma’s match against Spezia. After all of this dust settled, Juve found themselves in 7th place. This finish only secures them a spot in the qualifying rounds of the relatively new Europa Conference League.

To say that Juve’s season has been a roller coaster of emotions would be a bit of an understatement. Juve had grand ambitions to compete for the Serie A title again this year and to make a deep run in the Champions League. Because of injuries, poor play, and poor tactics, neither of those two things happened.

It also didn’t help that Juve was at the center of a financial scandal that saw them lose 15 points, regain them just to lose 10 points again at the end of the season. This will hopefully be the end of their legal fights in Italy, even though there are some UEFA sanctions definitely coming down the line at some point.

Overall, this has been an overwhelmingly disappointing campaign. There is hope on the horizon, however, as Juventus will be looking at a fresh new start over the summer.

The 2022-2023 season has also shown that Juve is in desperate need of a rebuild that could bring in a new manager and an infusion of youth that could help build a solid foundation for the club in the future.

Juve is in line for a long and complicated summer but that could be exactly what the club needs for the future.
