Player Reviews: Adrien Rabiot has great season for Juve
By Nick Belotto
Juventus has finally finished their rollercoaster season and now it’s time to look back on the individual players to see how they did. We start with one of the more consistent players on the team: Adrien Rabiot.
Statistically speaking, Rabiot put together one of his strongest seasons in black and white. He notched 31 starts on the year and scored 11 goals across all competitions with 8 coming in Serie A. He also added 6 assists and proved to be a valuable attacking player in his central midfielder role (stats courtesy of fbref.com).
All in all, Rabiot turned in an impressive season and was a critical component of Juve’s midfield. He thrived in a traditional central midfield role and proved capable of being a workhorse for club and country.
Rabiot’s career season came at the perfect time for him. His contract with Juventus expires in June and he will be looking to cash in on his 2022-2023 campaign. Unfortunately, it looks like that will happen with another club.
Multiple clubs have reached out to Rabiot with the hope of signing him this summer. Juventus has made numerous offers to resign the 28-year-old Frenchmen but has struggled to complete the deal. As of now, it looks like Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are the front runners to sign him to a long-term deal.
While it would be a shame for Rabiot to leave Turin this summer, it would make sense from an economic point of view. Juventus is struggling financially, especially considering the club’s legal issues. They simply aren’t able to afford Rabiot’s salary demands which mean he is more than likely out the door.

If (more likely when) Rabiot leaves, he will leave behind a fan base that underappreciated him at the beginning of his time with the club. Yet, hopefully, that fan base saw his hard work this season in keeping the Bianconeri relevant in spite of the chaos surrounding the club.
