Are Romelu Lukaku and Ruben Loftus-Cheek headed to Turin?

Vlahovic had a rough season this past year. The talented striker struggled with injuries and didn’t seem to thrive in Allegri’s tactics. Because of this, it is looking more and more likely that Vlahovic will leave this summer. This is especially true since he will fetch a hefty price tag and Juve needs to capitalize financially.

In steps Chelsea, who has been very open to buying players in the last year and a half. The London side reportedly had conversations about Vlahovic and is interested in bringing him to the Premier League. Juventus wants around 80€ for the striker and Chelsea doesn’t seem interested at that price.

Chelsea has reportedly offered Romelu Lukaku and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to try and lower Vlahovic’s price tag. Juventus has declined those players. The club still wants to get close to that 80€ price tag instead.

Even though both of these players come with certain challenges, they both have strengths that could benefit Juventus during their rebuild.

Lukaku has not been the same player he was at Inter a few seasons ago. Yet, he is still a talented striker who can be a real challenge defensively in the box. Loftus-Cheek could help replace the departing Adrien Rabiot in the midfield and has shown promise during his time at Chelsea. While they both have had injury issues over their recent careers and have struggled with consistent play, they could be welcome additions to a Juve side that is set for a major overhaul this summer.

The downside is the money aspect. Juve will need to get as much money as they can to help rebuild this side into a Champions League-winning squad. The team needs money to do that and gambling on the Chelsea cast-offs could hurt those chances.
