Juventus Women finished the season of winning the Italian Women’s Cup against Roma. It was a season of many accomplishments and an overall team effort from the women in Turin. One of those women being Julia Grosso, who was just named Serie A midfielder of the season!
The 22 year old Canadian midfielder had a breakout season in her second year with the club. Grosso was the central point for Juventus along with Arianna Carusuo at the midfield position. Playing in 20 league matches this season for the club, Grosso was part of a squad that led the league in passing percentage in what was one of the most unselfish offenses in the league.
Julia Grosso was not only at the top of Juventus, but in the entire league at distributing the ball.
Grosso had her fair share of possession time this season, top 7 for the club in touches and passes attempted. The Canadian midfielder did the most with her time on the ball, having the second best assists per 90 minutes in the league (0.47). Grosso’s 7 assists were the second most on the team and top 5 in the league.
Grosso was a maestro distributing the ball to her teammates on the pitch. Juventus had a team passing completion percentage of 81.2%, the only club above 80%. This high passing percentage was led by Grosso’s astounding 91.8%, the only player above 90%.

Grosso is penned with Juventus through the 2024 season. The 21 year old has made herself a key part of the club and is likely looking at an extension soon. One that the club and fans would both celebrate, keeping the young star in black and white.
