It looks like Juventus has developed an interest in Franck Kessie as they attempt to rebuild their midfield.

Reports have indicated that Juventus is interested in signing Kessie on a loan with an option to buy. According to Sky Italia, it looks like Kessie has to make the decision on whether he wants a return to Italy or not.

The 26-year-old midfielder started his career in Italy playing for Atalanta and AC Milan. He moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2022 and notched 36 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Franck Kessie would be a welcome addition to a Juventus midfield that is in desperate need of an overhaul.

Juventus’ midfield needs a drastic overhaul this summer. While there have been positive contributions by players like Nicolo Fagioli and Adrien Rabiot, the depth of the squad is lacking. They have players like Denis Zakaria, Arthur Melo, and Weston McKennie on the roster, but there is very little that indicates they will still be at the club when the transfer window closes.

The Ivory Coast international slots in as a defensive midfielder on Juve’s squad. He would pair well with Rabiot and Paul Pogba giving them more freedom to play further up the pitch while locking down the central defense in front of the back line.

Juventus should absolutely do this deal. If it works out, they could bring Kessie in permanently down the road when they hopefully get their financial situation cleared up. If it doesn’t, they can move on after a season.

Signing Kessie looks like a win-win for Juve.
