Is Jonathan David on his way to Turin?

According to Football Italia, Cristiano Guintoli wants to bring in Lille and Canadian forward Jonathan David to sure up the team’s attack. Lille has set the price tag at €60 million for the talented 23-year-old.

Juve’s interest in David signals that the team may be ready to offload Dusan Vlahovic. There has been a considerable amount of speculation about Juventus potentially selling the Serbian striker with suitors from around Europe lining up to sign him.

According to the same report, it looks like Juventus would be looking for somewhere between €70-€80 million for Vlahovic. If they can pull off a sale like that, they could use that money to buy David and still profit about €10 million.

Jonathan David would be a great addition to this club. He is a fast striker who does a great job outrunning defenders and is a clinical finisher, which is exactly what the team needs.

He seems like he would be the perfect striker to pair with Federico Chiesa and the newly signed Tim Weah out on the wings. David scored 24 goals with 4 assists last season for Lille (per profbref.com).

David is also young. At 23 years old, his best football is definitely ahead of him and he could form a strong attacking core for the foreseeable future for the Bianconeri. Given that Juve is in need of a youth movement, David seems like he could be a perfect foundational piece for the club.

It would be sad to see Vlahovic go, but replacing him with David would ease the pain considerably.
