Juventus, who really are cash-strapped this summer, have signed winger Francisco Conceicao on a five-year deal worth €32 million (US$37.6m) from FC Porto.
Splashing the cash is not something that is coming easy this term, which is in stark contrast to 12 months under Thiago Motta.
Juventus still short of asking price
Juventus have been unable to match Manchester United’s valuation for England ace Sancho. The Serie A side have halted discussions with the Premier League team until they can offload one of their wingers, with both Nicolas Gonzalez and Timothy Weah likely to depart.
Sancho last played for the Red Devils in September 2023. Following his season-long loan at Chelsea, the 25-year-old is 100% not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans.
He has joined fellow outcasts Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia by being forced to train alone after 5pm by the club. Both Antony and Garnacho are on Juve’s radar, but the Turin titans cannot afford either player at the moment.
Sancho slipped behind the stars
Sancho kicked off his United career at the same time that Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane arrived, but fell out of favor to slip behind Antony, Anthony Elanga, Garnacho and Rashford for a starting berth.
His potential move to Juventus had recently edged closer, courtesy of an improved offer nearer to United’s valuation of €28.8 million (US$33.8m).
Nottingham Forest, who bagged €63.3m (US$74.4m) from Newcastle United for Elanga, have expressed interest in Sancho. While Inter Milan and Napoli, the two teams that are expected to be again battling it out for the Scudetto, as well as AC Milan are serious contenders to land the Juventus target.
