With second choice goalkeeper Perin expected to join Genoa next month, in a bid to secure regular playing time, Juventus are frantically looking for a new back-up stopper.
Perin, overlooked by former manager Igor Tudor, has rarely featured under Spalletti. The 33-year-old's deal expires in June 2027, but Genoa are exploring his return to the club where he made his name before being lured to Juve for €16.3 million (US$19.1m) in January 2018.
He went back to Genoa on a short-term long in February 2020, when he reached a milestone 200 appearances for the team. His stint with the Bianconeri has been bitty, often subjected to being nothing more than a bit part player who frequently warms the bench.
Juve's Michele Di Gregorio is the undisputed no1 this term, although it could be finally tempted to switch to the Premier League having turned down the overtures of Liverpool last summer and Nottingham Forest the previous season.
Di Gregorio could be sold during the summer, with AC Milan and France shotstopper Mike Maignan recently considered by the Bianconeri.
Bianconeri keeper candidates
As Maignan has kicked off talks about a contract extension with Milan, because his current deal expires next summer, Juventus have turned their attention to Nicola Leali, Dominik Livakovic and Christos Mandas to replace Perin.
Leali has played all 15 Serie A matches this campaign for the strugglers, yet Genoa's new head coach Daniele De Rossi is keen to tempt Juve's Perin next month.
A swap deal is a real possibility, although a six-month loan for Perin to join Genoa is viable should the Bianconeri opt for Leali.
Juventus interested in Croatia ace
Croatia international Livakovic is currently not playing while on loan at La Liga strugglers Girona
from Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Yet a move to the Italian top tier would only mean a change of club with no guarantee of regular minutes for the 30-year-old, unless Di Gregorio moves in the summer.
Genoa had previously been interested in Livakovic, but it appears that he favors a return to Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia that he left in August 2023 to join Fenerbahce in a €6.7m (US$7.9m) deal.
Lazio reserve keeper Mandas is being monitored by clubs in his native Greece, Premier League strugglers West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers as well as Juventus.
Having a reliable pair of hands to compete with Di Gregorio next month would offer Spalletti more options to rotate his squad members, with Juventus aiming to continue their momentum in the Champions League in order to reach the lucrative knockout stages.
