While the miserable form continues for Juve under second choice Igor Tudor, a duo who played against Real Madrid are on the radar of the Spanish giants.
Both Khephren Thuram and Kenan Yildiz would be expensive acquisitions for Xabi Alonso’s cash-rich La Liga leaders.
Thuram is worth around half the valuation of Turkish talent Yildiz whose price tag is €100 million (US$116m), which would help Juve rebuild their squad next summer.
Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has no problems financing a deal and could use outcast Endrick, the Brazilian striker, as a sweetener for the Bianconeri.
Juventus Next Gen graduate Yildiz, who currently whizzes down the wing could sit behind Kylian Mbappe as a traditional no10. Utilized to his full potential may well propel him to a world class player.
The 20-year-old skippered the side during the Champions League 1-0 defeat, but was surprisingly hauled off in the second half as the Bianconeri were second best to Madrid in the Spanish capital.
Yildiz has only scored twice this season, but set up four goals, as it seems he is not being played in a position where his silky skills accumulating two goals and four assists in ten matches this season.
France international Thuram is also combative and versatile. He regularly destroys opponents, and has been an asset since joining last season from OGC Nice.
Although Italian agent Giovanni Branchini recently confirmed Alonso’s serious interest in the pair, Madrid already boasts an established set of attacking players. Convincing Thuram and Yildiz that they will regularly feature seems to be the only real obstacle.
Obviously the demands and pace in La Liga is very different from competing in the defensive-minded Italian top tier. There is also the fact that Madrid employ much higher pressure and possession tactics than those introduced by Tudor.
Yildiz is a wanted man in Europe
There’s been contract chaos over both Yildiz and his Juve team-mate Dusan Vlahovic, with the pair being courted by Madrid’s rivals Barcelona.
Juventus wish to cash in on Serbia star Vlahovic during the winter transfer market, and are still trying to negotiate a contract extension for Yildiz.
There could be a bidding war for Yildiz as Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Madrid are among the European giants eager to secure his signature.
Should Juventus replace under pressure Tudor with a top-notch head coach then Yildiz could continue his career in Turin, because someone of the caliber of former Italy managers Roberto Mancini and Luciano Spalletti would mean stepping up his development.
Both Thuram and Yildiz could be lured to Madrid as they will always be in with a shot of winning silverware, which under Tudor appears like mission impossible.
