Following a recent meeting with owner John Elkann and the Juventus directors, the Turin titans have decided to part ways with ex-Bologna boss Motta in a bid to rescue their season.
Juventus made their announce on the website and released a statement about the change.
The statement read: "The club would like to thank Thiago Motta and all of his staff for their professionalism and for the work they have carried out in recent months with passion and dedication. The club wish them the best of luck for the future.
"Juventus FC also announce that the Men’s First Team will now be led by Igor Tudor, who will take charge of his first training session tomorrow, Monday, 24 March."
Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli had been a strong supporter of Motta, but after Friday's meeting when he presented findings following talks with players who were not on international duty, there has been a U-turn.
Motta was brought in on a three-year deal last summer, having been hand-picked by Giuntoli. Yet back-to-back Serie A defeats had seen the side drop to fifth place with nine matches remaining.
Final four finish
Tudor’s task is to finish fourth to qualify for a Champions League berth next season. The top three places are seemingly out of the question as Atalanta, Inter Milan and Napoli battle it to win the Scudetto.
Motta's tenure, which included early exits in three cup competitions, saw him take charge of 42 matches that comprised 18 victories, 16 draws and eight defeats.
Tudor will take charge of his first training session on Monday, with his maiden match when mid-table Genoa arrive for Saturday's Serie A showdown at the Allianz Stadium.
