Chelsea versatile defender Axel Disasi was being lined up for a January loan to the Turin titans, but instead Renato Veiga arrived from the Premier League outfit.
As Juve decided not to sign center-back Veiga following his successful loan spell, the club are eager to shore up their defense during the summer transfer window.
Disasi has fallen out of favor since Enza Maresca was installed as head coach last July. He has been omitted from Chelsea's squad to tackle the cash-rich 2025 FIFA Club World Cup finals (14 June-13 July), having played just six Premier League games last season for the Blues.
On transfer list
The five-time France international has been placed on the transfer list, having made 61 appearances for the club since signing from AS Monaco for $45 million (US$51.4m).
Yet there could be a contract termination by mutual agreement between Chelsea and Disasi, meaning no fee would be required to secure his signature.
Disasi, who made 10 appearances on loan for Aston Villa last term, is being monitored by Premier League clubs Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Serie A interest
While AC Milan, who have former Juve boss Max Allegri at the helm, have joined both Atalanta and the Bianconeri by showing serious interest in the 27-year-old. His favored positions are at center-back and right-back, although he can turn out at left-back.
Disasi needs to find a club where he can regain a starting berth in order to chase a place in the France squad that will tackle the prestigious 2026 FIFA World Cup.
France manager Didier Deschamps selected Disasi for his debut at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and played him in three games including the final defeat on penalties to Argentina. Disasi has not played an international match since March 2024.
