Three La Liga giants and Juventus have set their sights on Argentina center-back Marcos Senesi, who plies his trade for AFC Bournemouth.
The left-footed central defender's contract expires next summer, but the club are not keen on allowing Senesi to leave next month despite a potential cut-price deal.
Barcelona have spoken with Senesi's representatives about a move, while both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have shown serious interest in acquiring him as a free transfer next summer.
Juventus lead the race to prise Senesi from the Premier League in January. With Spalletti having transformed the Bianconeri's fortunes with seven triumphs from their past eight games, Juve are showing the potential to soon be regularly fighting to win silverware.
Yet Atletico, Barcelona and Real constantly offer a chance for players to clinch trophies, as they are always in the mix to win the Spanish league title and cup competitions.
Serie A beckons for Senesi
Senesi, who also holds Italian nationality, is a prominent name on Juve's agenda to bolster the backline. The club is believed to be prepared to offer an attractive deal in order to convince the 28-year-old to switch to Serie A.
Juventus should be able to offer a contract with more financial clout than his potential Spanish suitors, which could give them the edge.
Atletico and Barcelona have had Senesi on their long-term radar thanks to a plethora of strengths that include winning aerial duals, composure on the ball and versatility under different tactical systems.
Senesi, who has won two caps for Argentina, joined Bournemouth in August 2022 and this term has been a regular for the Premier League club.
Juventus could make a move for Senesi in the next transfer window, but may have to wait until the summer. A possible stumbling block is that Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is currently going through the rough patch with the side not far off the relegation zone, so is unlikely to relinquish such a pivotal player.
Barcelona and Juventus lead chase
Both Barcelona and Juve have upped their interest in recent weeks, following updated scouting reports on Senesi. While Serie A teams AS Roma, Fiorentina and Napoli were previously linked with him.
Bringing Senesi to Turin could help rejuvenate the defense and maintain the team's competitive level that has been instilled by Spalletti.
The Bianconeri have steadily climbed up the Serie A table, and will fancy their chances to gatecrash the top three. While they have two Champions League ties to tackle next month, against Benfica and Paul Pogba's AS Monaco, with the highly lucrative knockout stages up for grabs if they can succeed.
Spalletti has brought self belief to the lightweight squad he has inherited. Although their displays are far from spectacular at the moment, as they are picking up victories with average performances then with some new faces could soon start to purr.
