The Juventus number 10 broke the deadlock inside the Olimpico Grande Torino with a scorching eighth-minute strike on 11 January.

Yildiz latched onto Nicolo Savona’s pass then smashed his left-footed low drive past ‘keeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic and into the bottom right corner.

The 19-year-old Turkish international’s goal was the pick of the Serie A strikes last month, with this accolade on 5 February marking the start of a promising career for the Bianconeri.

But Yildiz’s stunning goal was cancelled out by Torino’s Nikola Vlasic equaliser, which rattled the post before beating Michele Di Gregorio in first-half added time.

Two red cards followed the pair of magnificent goals, with Juve manager Thiago Motta and Torino head coach Paolo Vanoli both sent off early in the second half. Their respective protests, after Savona tackled Karamoh just outside the penalty area, saw referee Michael Fabbri hand them their marching orders.

The 1-1 result was the first time since 2002 that the Turin teams had drawn their derby encounters back-to-back, which heaped more pressure on Motta.

Teenager Yildiz, born and raised in Germany, joined the Bianconeri from the Bayern Munich youth academy in 2022 and if he keeps scoring could become Motta’s saviour.

His exploits have put him on the radar of top English clubs, although his Juventus contract does not expire until 2029. He has notched four Serie A goals from 18 league starts and five substitute appearances so far this term.

Yildiz now commands a staggering €80 million (US$83.3m) price tag, although this would not deter the elite Premier League clubs. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are among his known admirers.

Jorge Mendes was recently seen dining with Yildiz’s parents in Turin, which suggests that the Juventus striker could soon ink a deal with the Portuguese football agent.
