A statement on the club’s website confirmed: “Juventus Football Club and Paul Pogba announce that they have reached a mutual agreement for the termination of their contract as of 30 November 2024. The club wishes Paul the very best for his professional future.”

Pogba released his own statement on social media, stating “My time at Juventus has come to an end.” The 2018 World Cup winner continued; “It has been a privilege to pull on the shirt of the bianconeri and to share so many special moments together. I cherish the memories we made. They live on.

“Even in the most difficult moments over the past year, your support was crucial and I want to thank Juve fans around the world for their compassion. It has been a pleasure to have experienced so many great moments with my teammates over the years and I wish them every success in the future.

“I am looking forward to the next chapter of my career and to stepping out on the pitch with my next club.”

Pogba was handed a four-year doping ban – after an initial suspension – in March,  after he tested positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA).

Pogba can now resume playing next March after his punishment was reduced down to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

CAS’ ruling deemed that Pogba’s ingestion of the banned substance “was not intentional” and was the result of erroneously taking a supplement prescribed to him by a doctor in Florida.

Prior to the ban, Pogba had been earning £6.9m a year at the Bianconeri, on a contract which expired in June 2026.

It is believed Juventus had cut his salary to about £2,000 a month, as part of a collective agreement between clubs and the players' union.

Pogba had not exactly been a regular fixture before the ban, having played just 162 minutes across five appearances during the 2022-23 season, with a total of 51 minutes as a substitute last season before his suspension.

BBC Sport reported that sources close to Pogba confirmed he can resume training in January and will be eligible to play again from March. This weekend’s mutual agreement means that Pogba will be free to join a new club in the January transfer window.

Pogba has not revealed his next destination yet, but The Independent have reported interest in a deal from MLS club Inter Miami.

Pogba leaves Juventus having made 190 appearances with 34 goals over two spells with the club. With Juventus, he won 4 Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias, two Supercoppas and picked up a runner-up medal in the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League final.
