Weston McKennie's surprise season

The international break is upon us, so what better time than now to dive into the season that Weston McKennie is having? Roughly 8 or 9 months ago, Weston McKennie's future at Juventus appeared to be coming to an end, but he had other ideas.

Juventus was gearing up for their off-season tour to the United States, and the club was shopping him around to several other teams. It was looking like McKennie wouldn't even make the trip to the USA.

McKennie even had lost his locker and parking spot! Coming off a rough 2022-2023 season, Juventus seemed to have decided that he was not up to standards to be a regular at the historic club. However, McKennie didn't hang his head. He kept working. He found his way onto the roster for the tour to the USA, and he made the most of it.

As we now know, Weston McKennie did end up staying with Juve for another season, and we can assume that the club sure is happy it worked out that way. Not only has McKennie put together a strong bounce back campaign, but many fans even think he has been Juve's player of the season up to this point.

McKennie has worked his way into being a regular starter for Juventus this year, and has also put up strong numbers. McKennie is the team leader in assists, with 9 in all competitions. He has started 25 Serie A matches this season, and Juventus only has 3 losses in those 25 games. He has been one of the highest rated players in the lineup week in and week out.

Nothing has been fully decided yet as far as Weston McKennie's long term future with the club. We will have to wait and see how everything plays out. One thing is certain, though. Many Juve fans are very glad that the American was apart of the 2023-2024 campaign.
