Juventus, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan have been the three teams pursuing Paul Pogba the hardest, but it looks like the Bianconeri are becoming the clear favorites.

The Old Lady definitely need reinforcements in their midfield this summer, as signing Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey on free transfers last summer did not pay dividends.

Ramsey could still stay and provide value, but Rabiot appears to be headed away from Juventus to the Premier League.

Juve are targeting a number of options for their midfield.

They want to replace Miralem Pjanic with the younger, more defensive Arthur Melo, and they have also been linked to future Serie A superstar Sandro Tonali.

However, the most appealing target is Paul Pogba, who is ready to leave Manchester United. A former Juventus star, Pogba has also shined at United when healthy, but it’s clear a change of scenery would be best for him.

Juve have been competing with Real Madrid and rivals Inter Milan for Pogba, and while Real were initially the favorites due to the connection between Pogba and Zinedine Zidane, they no longer seem to be in the running.

Pogba’s salary has swayed them the other way, since Fede Valverde’s emergence means Los Blancos are no longer desperate for a midfield upgrade.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Football-Italia.net, Real and Inter are pulling out of the sweepstakes due to concerns over the transfer fee and the player’s injuries in 2019-2020.

That could mean Juventus can come in and reunite with Pogba, who would transform the team as a superstar midfielder for Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.

Per GdS, the Bianconeri can use Ramsey and Rabiot as part of an exchange, as both midfielders seem to be coveted by Manchester United.

It looks like this could be Juve’s transfer race to lose.
