Federico Chiesa is one of the most valuable young players in Serie A, and Juventus stand a solid chance at landing his signature in the summer transfer window if a move can be completed.

Juventus will prioritize signing a star midfielder in the summer transfer window, as they can use 2019 free agent signing Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey to pry away Paul Pogba from Manchester United or somebody else.

However, the Bianceroni also have eyes on a number of attacking players, such as Inter’s Mauro Icardi to replace free agent striker Gonzalo Higuain.

But the most exciting potential attacking signing would be Fiorentina 22-year-old Federico Chiesa, who is yet another young Serie A player on Juve’s radar.

More from Old Juve

According to a report from Corriere Fiorentino, via Football-Italia.net, Juventus are among four finalists in the race to sign the forward worth a reported 60 million euros.

The others? 2018-2019 Champions League winners Liverpool, rivals Inter, and Frank Lampard‘s Chelsea.

Those are three formidable opponents for Juve in this transfer battle, though it could come down to another fight between Inter and Juve this summer.

Chiesa scored six goals with three assists in Serie A last season and has all the tools to be a world-class forward in the league.

He can play on the left, through the middle, or on the right, but most of his goals and matches played came in a central position for Fiorentina last season.

So Chiesa can help replace Higuain, but he can also work with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala in the starting lineup to give the Bianconeri the best attacking trio in the league.

Juve won’t be able to purchase Chiesa for 60 million euros outright, which would also be an issue for the other clubs (barring a Lautaro Martinez sale for Inter), but they could come up with the right package deal.

Of course, that may be difficult if Fiorentina are uninterested in the players Juventus would have to offer. Per the report from Corriere Fiorentino, it appears Fiorentina don’t want to sell to Juve and would prefer a Premier League move for Chiesa.
