Manchester United broke the bank to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus in 2016 and after just four years, there could be a reversal of the Frenchman.
Juventus winger Douglas Costa has been among those players linked with a departure from the Allianz Stadium heading into the transfer window. The Brazil international has fallen out of favour under Maurizio Sarri, so with just 18 appearances under his belt in all competitions this season, the 29 year old prefers departing Turin to play regularly.

Calcio Mercato has reported that Manchester United are keen on landing the winger in the upcoming transfer window and in a bid to do so, the Red Devils are also willing to offload some dead-weight as like most other European sides, they too are plotting a refurbishment. Douglas Costa is wanted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his desire to leave Juve has handed the Red Devils a boost in their quest.
In spite of his situation at the home of the Serie A leaders, Douglas Costa possesses incredible characteristics, with his dribbling and pace making him one of the world’s most lethal wingers in an attacking environment. Unfortunately, Costa has not been as good with the Bianconeri due to their defensive brand but could see his Bayern Munich form return if he signs with the Premier League giants.
Manchester United may behave stringent while meeting the Old Lady of Turin’s asking price for the ex-Shakhtar Donetsk man which may be in the range of 50 million euros, so Juventus must try and negotiate a swap deal for Paul Pogba in the process even if that means them paying a significant figure. This would mean that they get their wanted player and also end up offloading someone that’s not wanted by the manager.
However, for now, all eyes seem to be set on landing one of Barcelona’s players as Miralem Pjanic seems to have edged closer to the Camp Nou. The Serie A’s defending champions are interested in being beneficiaries of Arthur Melo but are being offered Nelson Semedo instead, which is seemingly delaying an official announcement of the deal.
Do you think a swap between Costa and Pogba, additionally involving some money would benefit the Bianconeri?
