Barcelona may see their key target head to Juventus instead.
Juventus are currently competing in the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League with an aged, yet experienced squad. A lot has been made of their performances in the European Cup as well as the domestic competitions where knockout football comes into play, and as a result, it’s imperative that they improve on their setup to add even more silverware to their cabinet.

One of the positions which need refurbishing is the striker’s role. Mario Mandzukic was one of the aged players who has been shipped out and it looks like the next in line would be Gonzalo Higuain. Even at 33, the Argentine frontman is one of the world’s best but the Bianconeri simply cannot spend sizeable wages on an ageing player.
Higuain’s potential departure may be against Maurizio Sarri’s wishes, but in order to pacify the former Chelsea manager and add firepower to their final third, the Italian giants are willing to sanction a transfer for Lautaro Martinez, Goal has reported. The Inter Milan forward is also wanted by La Liga leaders Barcelona, who seek a replacement for Luis Suarez.
Lautaro Martinez has been in contact with the Blaugrana since the last couple of months, but everything has pointed to no deal going through as the Nerazzurri have been clear on their demands, which seem to be beyond the Catalans’ reach. As such, the Turin-based giants should capitalize on this opportunity to land a world-class goal-scorer who promises long-term glory.
Paying 110 million euros wouldn’t be a hard thing to do for the Old Lady of Turin and it would be all the more beneficial since the 22 year old would repay them quickly. Lautaro is used to playing regularly in the Serie A, so it won’t take him much time to adapt to a newer league in contrast to the time another striker from a different league will need to settle in.
Besides Lautaro Martinez, the most recently linked player to the Allianz Stadium outfit, Harry Kane was thought to be on the Juventus radar. The Tottenham Hotspur man is valued at 150 million euros and has seemingly made a decision on his future which mostly is away from north London, as the England international is hellbent on adding trophies under his belt.
Who do you think the Bianconeri must go for between Kane and Martinez?
