Juventus continue to be interested in players they must not sign.

Juventus are going to be in a rebuilding phase this summer and signing fullbacks could be on their list of agendas heading into the transfer market. The Bianconeri only have one natural left back in their roster in Alex Sandro and the Brazilian defender is among the latest players to have been tipped to leave the club at the end of this season.

More from Old Juve

Alex Sandro has been public about his desire of leaving Turin at one or the other point in his career and fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League. The full back has been linked with Manchester United since a couple of months and Tottenham Hotspur are the newest entrants in the market for his services, given Jose Mourinho’s appointment.

Mourinho is thought to be an admirer of the 29 year old and considers him head and shoulders above his current options- Ben Davies and the loaned out Ben Davies. With that said, the former Real Madrid boss is likely to have a productive transfer period and Alex Sandro could be united with the Portuguese at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Calcio Mercato has reported that the Old Lady of Turin wants to sign Barcelona superstar Jordi Alba as a replacement for Alex Sandro. Alba is aged and no more indispensable at Barca, so he may indeed be allowed to leave but the asking price for his services would be on the higher side considering that his contract ties him to the Camp Nou until summer 2024.

On the other hand, the Serie A’s defending champions vesting interest in the Spain international makes no sense as such. Jordi Alba is already 31 years old, well passed his best and prone to injuries. While his attacking contribution has reduced considerably, the lesser spoken about his horrific defending would be better.

Barcelona and Juventus have been linked with several players between themselves such as Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, Mattia de Sciglio and Miralem Pjanic, but to be frank, Alba should be the last player that the Bianconeri should pick up from the Catalans given his fitness and rapidly deteriorating quality that has been criticised by most in recent times.
