Juventus continue to approach players who may not be ideal signings.

Over the last couple of months, Juventus have been touted to rebuild to realistically contend for the UEFA Champions League. They have sheerly dominated the Serie A and the domestic competitions but needless to say that to become the world’s best, continental success is a determinant, and on that parameter, the Italian giants have fallen short lately.

More from Old Juve

Signing a striker is one of the several agendas on the wish-list of the Bianconeri. Of late, Juve have been linked with the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Mauro Icardi, but there’s more likelihood of them spending on a lesser priced player. With that in mind, Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik has been tipped to make a move to the Allianz Stadium from Napoli.

Milik’s contract at the Stadio San Paolo expires in 2021 and it doesn’t look like the Polish forward is in negotiations with his side over an extension. Besides that, he is of the opinion that he must go to a bigger team in order to add some silverware which the Naples-based outfit has been unable to win in recent years.

Tutto Sport has reported that in a bid to probably try and land the 26-year-old for a lot cheaper than his value, Juventus have decided to offer Colombia international Juan Cuadrado to their rivals. Cuadrado, originally a winger, has been used as a makeshift right-back by Maurizio Sarri, but with the recruitment of a new one this summer, it’s unlikely that he has a future in Turin.

Juan Cuadrado is an electric, fast-paced winger who has shown his versatility by adapting to a defensive role in next to no time. The former Chelsea man’s best option would be to head elsewhere and play regularly in the final years of his career, so Napoli is by no way a bad choice. However, questions need to be asked over Milik’s potential arrival at Juventus.

Arkadiusz Milik is certainly a good player, but whether he is of a caliber to play for the Serie A champions remains to be seen. Statistically, even a 33-year-old Gonzalo Higuain has outscored him and the Bianconeri cannot afford to sign a player who doesn’t promise success to try and win the European Cup with a squad that has more aged players than not.

Given that Mauro Icardi is available for a transfer and perhaps even Lautaro Martinez is, Juve shouldn’t even look at Arkadiusz Milik because he is nothing more than an ordinary striker. A kind of player that they need at this point in time is someone who can score regularly and on the big stage because Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be around forever.
