Juventus have reached closer to signing their main man.

Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is looking to become a European champion for a second year running. After winning the UEFA Europa League with Chelsea last summer, the Italian boss is targeting the grander continental prize this time out. However, pragmatically speaking, Juve will need something more than just hard-work and good performances to become UCL winners.

Besides adding cover on their defensive flanks, the Bianconeri will require creativity in the midfield. Unfortunately, none of their players are contributing well in the engine room and it is imperative that the club needs reinforcements. Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba is one of the players that has been linked with a return to the Allianz Stadium lately.

Paul Pogba has not featured for the Red Devils since a couple of months and the most recent comments by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about the kind of players he needs in his squad once again raised questions about the Frenchman’s future at the club. If thinking that Juventus weren’t handed a major break in their bid to land the France international wasn’t enough, Real Madrid have also pulled out of the race for him giving the Serie A side clear daylight, Tutto Juve reports.

Zinedine Zidane was hellbent on bringing his compatriot at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the coronavirus pandemic brought along a recession, which has made it clear that the Whites would need to save in order to bring in Kylian Mbappe and therefore, Pogba will not be pursued anymore, more so after the emergence of Federico Valverde in recent months.

Manchester United value their record signing at 150 million euros, but that’s certainly going to be a negotiable figure given the current situation and their desire to get rid of him. While something even in the 100 million range could be beyond the Old Lady of Turin, the Old Trafford outfit’s interest in several Juve players could be used as a price-reduction mechanism.
