Juventus ready to sacrifice Cristiano Ronaldo for grand transfer
Juventus are ready to do the unthinkable for a glorious transfer.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been a colossal figure for Juventus since his arrival from Real Madrid in 2018. In his first season, the Portuguese marksman settled in well and in the 2019/20 campaign, his second, the ex-Manchester United forward has been even better. However, at 35, it’s unlikely that Ronaldo will be around for much longer.

Mauro Icardi, whose off-the-ball movement is incredible as is his scoring record, was recently being linked with a move to the Allianz Stadium before finalizing his transfer with Paris Saint-Germain. As such, his prowess in front of goal could’ve led him to be a replacement to Ronaldo at Juve but the Bianconeri will now have to turn their attentions to other players.
Neymar is the latest target on the Italian giants’ radar and it looks like Juventus are ready to show Cristiano Ronaldo the door too in order to land the Brazil international, Calcio Mercato has reported. While for most it could be a ridiculous transfer, it may be something out of the box, yet successful from Juve’s perspective.
As good and clutch as Ronaldo may be, there’s no denying that he is 35 and Juventus face the major and unspoken risk of him depreciating rapidly in no time. That may be two years down the line or in the next two months as well, but regardless, the bottom line is that an old player is being overpaid by a financially rigid side when someone younger could arrive in his place.
Paris Saint-Germain are likely to accept Cristiano Ronaldo in a player-swap and would happily sacrifice Neymar. The Qatari-run club has liquid cash, such as the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid, to pay heavily, and will comfortably accommodate CR7’s wage demands, whereas the ex-Barca man could be the holder of limelight in Turin.
Brazil’s all-time top scorer could have his problems off-the-field, but it’s difficult to see him leading an undisciplined life in a club of Juventus’ stature where several senior figures could possibly school him over behaviour. In addition to that, he will be the biggest man at the club and in such an environment, Neymar’s full potential may actually be realised.
While Barcelona are still the frontrunners to sign one of the world’s best players in spite of their financial stress, Juventus would be incredibly fortunate to see the former Santos winger join them even if that means Ronaldo goes to Paris. Nonetheless, Neymar will certainly have a final say on his future and it’s difficult to see him snubbing Barca in any circumstance.
What is your take on Ronaldo potentially making way for Neymar in the Juve roster?
