Arthur is the need of the hour for Juventus and Maurizio Sarri
Juventus and Maurizio Sarri cannot afford to let slip of Arthur
The ongoing negotiations between Barcelona and Juventus regarding the swap deal of Miralem Pjanic and Arthur Melo has now reached the final phase. The Bianconeri have made it clear that Arthur Melo is their main man from Barca after turning down offers that included Arturo Vidal, Ousmane Dembele, and Ivan Rakitic.

The possible departure of Miralem Pjanic this summer would give Rodrigo Bentancur the opportunity to develop into a future star for Juventus after showing tremendous potential this season under Maurizio Sarri.
The departure of the former Roma midfielder will not only provide Rodrigo Bentancur a stepping stone in paving his way into the starting eleven regularly for Juventus, but the addition of Arthur Melo in the swap deal would be an ideal addition to add creativity to obsolete defence.
Despite Juve boasting a deep squad depth unlike any other team in the Serie A this season, the lack of creativity in the midfield persists despite the number of midfielders. The only attacking midfielder that the former Chelsea boss has at his disposal are Aaron Ramsey and Paulo Dybala who is rarely fielded as a midfielder these days.
A dead midfield has proven costly for the Bianconeri
Arthur Melo is the man that Sarri needs in the middle of the park since Blaise Matuidi, Sami Khedira, Adrien Rabiot, and Rodrigo Bentancur having a more defensive approach in the midfield.
The Brazilian midfielder from Barcelona could play a major role in carrying the ball forward from the halfway line and supplying it to Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala to finish off. Apart from his passing technique, the midfielder like most other Brazilians possesses the quality of being press resistant and making his way out of tight spaces due to his skilful feet.
The lack of width and creativity in the midfield this season was displayed best against Olympique Lyon this season in the Champions League after Rudi Garcia instructed his players to constrict Juve’s midfielders into a narrow space that eventually limited their passing options for the final third. That would not have been the case if Sarri had another midfielder in his squad that could widen the play despite a strong press from the opposition.
Nonetheless, the arrival of the Brazilian is much awaited at Turin and as per reports from the Don Balon, Juventus and Barcelona have reportedly come to an agreement over the transfer.
Do you see Arthur’s arrival into Turin this summer as a priority?
