Juventus vs. Milan Player Ratings: Cristiano Ronaldo shows rust
Juventus weren’t at their best but will still make it the final.
After drawing Milan 1-1 in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals, Juventus drew with Milan again 0-0 on Friday night at the Allianz Stadium. However, they will make it to the final on away goals, which is what will count in the end.
Juve won’t be happy with how they played, but they will have an opportunity to bounce back and shake off the rust. For now, it is on to the final.
GK Gianluigi Buffon
The cup goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon had essentially nothing to do against Milan, who lost main striker Ante Rebic to a red card early in the game.

LB Alex Sandro
Although Alex Sandro was only rarely tested defensively, the Brazilian left back put his best foot forward with another decent performance. Per WhoScored.com, he completed 92.2 percent of his passes.

CB Leonardo Bonucci
Leonardo Bonucci failed to impose himself in the box on set pieces, but he was solid defensively in a game in which the opposition had no striker to actually test him. That said, his six aerial duels won reinforced his power in the air.

CB Matthijs de Ligt
A great performance from the young Dutch center back. Matthijs de Ligt had a couple of nice headers from set pieces, and he was composed when passing it out of the back. De Ligt provided great cover for both Danilo and Juan Cuadrado when they moved up to support the attack from the right back position.

RB Danilo
One of the best players on the pitch for Juve, Danilo drew a surprising start over Juan Cuadrado but quickly won praise from fans. Danilo is one of the most underrated fullbacks in the game and has been showing his quality for years. He put in four tackles and did everything he could to support the attack.
Rating: 7.5 out of 10
CM Miralem Pjanic
Practically invisible, Miralem Pjanic was one of the least effective players on the pitch for Juventus and deserved to be sent off. He didn’t set the tone for the attack and did little defensively. There’s a reason why the Bianconeri are willing to upgrade him in a player swap with Barcelona.
Rating: 5.0 out of 10
CM Blaise Matuidi
Substituted as well, Blaise Matuidi had an average performance for the Old Lady on Friday night. He had a few bright moments in the attack and worked hard, completing most of his passes and playing well defensively. But ultimately, he wasn’t an influential part of the game.
Rating: 6.0 out of 10
CM Rodrigo Bentancur
Another standout for Juventus in the Coppa Italia semifinals clash, Rodrigo Bentancur showed why he is clearly Juve’s most valuable midfield player. Bentancur led the team with five tackles and had three key passes to support the attack. The Uruguayan was all over the pitch, keeping attacks alive with his passing and starting new ones with his ball recoveries.
Rating: 7.5 out of 10
LW Douglas Costa
Although he sometimes switched over to the right side, Douglas Costa mostly stuck to the left touchline and caused plenty of problems for Milan’s defense. His trickery and intelligence movement aided Juve, but he was just missing the final delivery. Had Cristiano Ronaldo been more up to the task, Costa’s stats would have reflected his brightness.
Rating: 6.5 out of 10
RW Paulo Dybala
The communication between Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo could have been better, but the Argentine forward supplied a team-high five key passes for his teammates and always looked dangerous. Tough to deal with on the ball, Dybala did everything he could to disrupt Milan’s extremely organized center back pairing.

ST Cristiano Ronaldo
A poor performance from Cristiano Ronaldo, plain and simple. Juventus were gifted a penalty they shouldn’t have received, yet Ronaldo could not convert. He worked hard and dropped deep to help his teammates and recover the ball, but his passing and movement were uncharacteristally off. He thwarted his team’s own attacks with poor touches. But Ronaldo had some bright moments, including a rabona and some creative dribbling. He just needs to shake off the rust.
