Juventus star forward Paulo Dybala’s future in Turin will soon be secure.

Over the past couple of months, Juventus fans have been watching word of a new extension for superstar forward Paulo Dybala anxiously. When it comes to the next five years of Juve’s plan to return to being the best club in all of Europe, there is not a single player of more importance than Dybala.

Because while Cristiano Ronaldo is the team’s biggest star right now and the catalyst for a run to the Champions League title, he won’t be able to sustain a high level of play for too long. Dybala, on the other hand, is in the prime of his career and always rapidly improving.

The Argentine forward’s current deal, like Ronaldo’s, expires after the 2021-2022 season. That’s when a lot of key veteran players have expiring contracts, such as wide men Douglas Costa and Juan Cuadrado. For all of those older players, the future is uncertain and up for evaluation.

But with Dybala, there is no debate. He’s staying. Fabrizio Romano, via Forza Juventus on Twitter, reported he will “101 percent” be playing in Turin. The Neymar rumors are just that: rumors.

Sport Mediaset, via JuveFC.com on Twitter, report that negotiations between the Bianconeri and the 26-year-old are ongoing. Dybala is expected to be extended through the 2024-2025 season and make about 10 million euros per year in salary. It seems the team is close to a deal.

That’s a perfectly reasonable salary for a player who has been one of the biggest stars in Serie A over the years. Dybala is capable of scoring goals nobody else can and has become beloved by Bianconeri fans. Nobody wants to see him leave – not next year, not the year after, and not even two years from now.

If Dybala signs an extension through 2025, he will be 31 and through the best athletic years of his career. At that point, Juve can reevaluate his abilities and go from there, but it’s clear that the Argentine superstar needs to be in Turin over the long haul and for those best years.

He is a creative muse on the pitch in the attacking third with his ability to find space, ability to navigate tight spaces, and ability to use those openings in tight spaces he creates to score pinpoint goals from pretty much any distance or angle.

Next. Juve could make costly mistake to benefit finances. dark

The Bianconeri are doing whatever they can to make Dybala feel valued. He, Matthijs de Ligt, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Merih Demiral look like the nucleus of this team for the next several years. But it all starts with Dybala, who has truly game-changing, superstar quality.
