Juventus shortlist Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for summer arrival
Arsenal’s lethal striker is wanted by Juventus.
Juventus got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Bologna on Monday, with goals coming from Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. Atalanta’s loss and Inter Milan’s stalemate over the course of the week meant that the Old Lady of Turin now holds an eight point lead in the Serie A and effectively has another title in the bag.

Nevertheless, the Bianconeri have been far from their best in recent months and Maurizio Sarri just doesn’t seem to have the mindset required for a club aspiring to be an European champion. With that said, the ex-Chelsea boss has equal reason for resentment as he has to deal with an old squad that has not been refurbished in a while.
Gonzalo Higuain is the perfect example of such a player. The Argentinian is one of the world’s best strikers, but inconsistency is one of his major hindrances. Juventus are expecting the former Real Madrid marksman to leave this summer and they will need to sign a striker who can emulate his goal-scoring form from the last few seasons.
Calcio Mercato has claimed that Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been identified as a potential target. The Gabon international has been asked by many to leave the Emirates Stadium for a more successful club and Barcelona as well as Inter Milan have also kept tabs on the player’s future since a few months.
Aubameyang is a stunning striker, but by signing him Juve would repeat their mistake of signing aged players on expensive wages. The former Borussia Dortmund superstar is 31 years old and past his prime. Moreover, his powers will begin to fade in the next one or two seasons and therefore, he is nothing but a short-term option for them.
Instead, they should go for someone younger with great aspirations. Chelsea frontman Tammy Abraham could be a great addition in this regard as he will face a lack of playing time following Timo Werner’s arrival. Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane must be the absolute priority however given that he’s mentioned his desire of winning trophies.
Which striker do you think is the perfect addition for the Bianconeri’s roster?
