Juventus need to replace Gonzalo Higuain with a high-quality striker, and Arkadiusz Milik seems like the best option.

Perhaps Juventus are dreaming of a deal with Raul Jimenez or Erling Haaland, but the Bianconeri won’t be able to sign one of the best options available on the transfer market at the striker position. But that doesn’t mean they’ll have to settle for someone who isn’t capable of being a starting player.

Gonzalo Higuain will likely leave Juve soon, meaning there would be a gaping hole at the striker position. Higuain is the only true striker on the team, though Juve have been known to play Paulo Dybala centrally on a frequent basis.

That said, they do need a true No. 9 as an upgrade on Higuain, and Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik is the best option Juve could realistically get.

Juve have been pursuing Milik lately, and reporter Nicolo Schira tweeted that the Serie A striker would like to move to Turin. He sees the Bianconeri as his “first choice”. Per Schira, the club has offered Milik a deal through the 2024-2025 season worth five million euros per year, though the striker is said to be looking to hire a new agent.

It seems like Milik is Juve’s to lose. No other team has been linked to Milik as frequently, and they appear to be the biggest club involved. As the powerhouse of Serie A on the cusp of a ninth straight Scudetto, Juventus can offer Milik many advantages. Working with Cristiano Ronaldo and Dybala may be primary among them.

Milik has been solid for Napoli in 2019-2020. He leads the team with 10 goals scored this season, one more than club legend Dries Mertens.

The Polish striker is in the prime of his career and could score more goals with Juve, but in order to be a good option for the Bianconeri, he’ll need to do more to create for others. He’s not even in the top 10 among Napoli players in key passes per game, according to WhoScored.com.

Still, Milik is someone Juve can sign without breaking the bank, and they can even use Federico Bernardeschi, who needs to be sold anyway, to make the deal affordable.
