Juventus are trying to sell Gonzalo Higuain this summer, and they have received a new offer from an MLS club.
The summer 2020 transfer window will bring in a sea of changes for Juventus, as the club has already acquired two standout young midfielders in Arthur Melo and Weston McKennie. Andrea Pirlo is now in charge of Juve after Maurizio Sarri’s bold dismissal, and Pirlo has an exciting, new vision for that club.
In order to enact this new vision, the Bianconeri will have to make some major sales of older players in order to bring in new stars. There are some veterans they would like to add, such as Edin Dzeko at striker, as experienced players can help them win in their short window with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Gonzalo Higuain‘s had some highs with the club, but the Old Lady will have to part ways with him this summer after his dismal 2019-2020 Serie A season. He is clearly unable to contribute to a team of Juve’s quality at this stage of his career.
Juventus need to make an upgrade on Gonzalo Higuain
According to a report from Luca Momoli, Juventus have received a formal transfer offer from Major League Soccer for striker Gonzalo Higuain. The offer comes from Inter Miami, who had already been linked to the Argentine striker.
Inter Miami have the money and ambitions to make this deal happen, and although Higuain is no longer a Champions League-caliber player, he could be a star in MLS and make the successful transition that many players have over the years. Look at what Wayne Rooney did in the league after Manchester United deemed him as over-the-hill.
It will be interesting to see how much Juventus can get for Higuain, but this deal is all about shedding salary and moving on so that the club can either reunite with Everton’s Moise Kean or making an experienced striker upgrade.
