Juventus have been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks, like many big clubs around Europe. Paulo Dybala’s situation continues to be of chief concern to the Bianconeri, and Arthur Melo is also dealing with a tricky injury. But on the bright side, three experienced players are expected to return to the Old Lady soon.

According to a report from Tuttosport’s Filippo Cornacchia, right back Juan Cuadrado and center backs Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini are aiming to make their returns to the pitch on Mar. 6 against Lazio.

If they can all make it back by then, that would be wonderful news for Juventini. All of them have been missed and are important players, but especially Cuadrado, considering Juve’s depth at fullback is a problem. They need Cuadrado’s chance-creation badly, as he is the team’s leading assist-provider with 10 in all competitions.

Until Chiellini and Bonucci return, Juventus will ask young center backs Matthijs de Ligt, Merih Demiral, and Radu Dragusin to hold down the fort with Danilo operating on the right-hand side of the defense.

Juventus will face Porto in the Champions League after Lazio

Next up on the schedule for Juventus is a tricky match against Hellas Verona on Saturday night. Then, Spezia on Tuesday night. And the following Saturday night will be the fixture against Lazio, which will be the hopeful return date for these three veteran defenders.

If they can all play without injury against Lazio, a Champions League contender for the next season and a current Round of 16 side, then they will be able to play for Juventus in their own Round of 16 clash against FC Porto on Tuesday night, Mar. 9 at the Juventus Stadium for the second leg. Juve are currently down 2-1, but with Federico Chiesa’s away goal, they will like their chances if their key players can return to the starting XI.

Next. The test ahead for Andrea Pirlo. dark

We’ll keep a close eye on all injury updates regarding Chiellini, Cuadrado, and Bonucci. These three players will be an important leadership boost against Lazio, one of the best teams in Serie A, and, especially, in the must-win Champions League fixture.
