Cristiano Ronaldo — Juventus’ talisman

One of the few reasons that could help Juventus get past Atalanta is Cristiano Ronaldo. Signed from Real Madrid for an initial transfer fee of around  €100 million in 2018, the Portuguese has recently surpassed the 100-goal mark for Juventus. Currently 36, Ronaldo has 101 goals to his name from 132 games for the Bianconeri.

This season, he has singlehandedly taken care of scoring goals for Le Zebre. With 29 goals in Serie A, he is the leading goalscorer in the tournament. Ronaldo, who has scored only two goals from three matches in Coppa Italia this season, would like to engrave his name at the top of the list.

Gianluca Scamacca, the Genoa forward, is at the top with four goals (according to Transfermarkt). Always hungry for making new records, Ronaldo will be licking his lips at the prospect of having another chance of becoming the top scorer of Coppa Italia this term.

Last Saturday, Ronaldo was the one to break the deadlock in the Derby d’Italia. And he could do the same on Wednesday. Due to the lack of requisite support from other players, Ronaldo has been frustrated at times. Therefore, the whole team needs to step up if Juventus are to win this final against Atalanta. And then, one could rely on the Juventus talisman to perform.

The thing that fascinates everyone about Ronaldo is that he hates losing and hence hardly losses any final. On Wednesday, he will do everything he could to get Juventus over the line, perhaps in what could be his “last dance” at Juventus.
