Inter Milan are in pole position to sign Juventus target Gleison Bremer from Torino this summer.

25-year-old Bremer has been in superb form this season, with his aggressive style proving the ideal fit for the central centre-back role in Ivan Juric’s proactive and daring system at Torino. Juventini saw the Brazilian mark Dusan Vlahovic out of the contest in February’s Derby della Mole and his performance that night supposedly piqued the interests of the Bianconeri hierarchy.

Torino director Davide Vagnati was previously coy on the idea of Bremer joining Torino’s crosstown rivals, saying ahead of the aforementioned derby: “I can’t see Bremer as Juventus player after fighting for Torino for many and many years – I expect him to do different choices for his future.”

Thus, while Juve hold an interest in the defender and I believe him to be the ideal long-term replacement for Giorgio Chiellini in Turin, the Bianconeri are currently trailing Inter in the race for the 25-year-old.

Inter are moving fast to secure the signing of Juventus target Gleison Bremer

On Monday, Fabrizio Romano reported that Bremer is a priority target for the Nerazzurri this summer. They’ve been in talks with Torino in January and Romeo Agresti added on Tuesday that their pursuit of the Brazilian defender has hastened in the past few days.

Inter perhaps view Bremer as a potential replacement for Stefan de Vrij in their back three. While Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni remain in imperious form, the Dutchman has declined slightly under Simone Inzaghi this season.

Tuttomercatoweb report that Inter would accept offers in the region of €20m for De Vrij this summer and a reunion with Antonio Conte at Tottenham is on the cards.

Juventus, meanwhile, have identified several centre-back targets as they attempt to refresh the position this summer. Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger, who’s poised to become a free agent, is believed to be the club’s priority.
