Juventus set to begin preseason against Barcelona
By Nick Belotto
Juventus’ football is back!
The Bianconeri are set to kick off their American preseason tour with a matchup against Barcelona in California at 10:30PM EST.
This matchup isn’t anything more than a simple preseason match with no real implications. With that being said, it will be great to see how the team is looking after a few months off the pitch (for some of the players).
For both clubs, this is going to be a great opportunity to see new tactical approaches start to set in. It’s also a great chance to just see how players gel with one another. Finally, it signals that real football is on the horizon, which is always exciting for any fan.
Since this is a game with no real implications, Juventus should focus this first preseason matchup on getting players out there, seeing how everyone looks, and keeping everyone healthy.
Above all else, it will be interesting to see how new signee Tim Weah looks on the pitch.
Weah signed with Juventus at the beginning of the month for €10.3 million and will need to add dynamism to the winger spot. It will be interesting to see how he would play opposite Federico Chiesa on the other wing.
There are still a lot of questions about this club as we go into this preseason tour. Juve will need to figure out its midfield over this preseason tour. The Bianconeri still need to iron out a few transfer-related questions such as what they want to do with players like Dusan Vlahovic.
Yet, despite all of the questions that are still out there, it’s still exciting for the Old Lady to come back onto the pitch.
