Despite the setback of losing center-back Federico Gatti until at least mid-January, the imminent return of defensive duo Gleison Bremer and Daniele Rugani has resulted in the Bianconeri turning their attention towards the lack of firepower for next month's transfer window.
Gatti suffered a knee injury during Juve's last 16 Coppa Italia triumph over Udinese, and had to undergo surgery in France today.
Pierre Kalulu and Lloyd Kelly have generally doing a good job for Luciano Spalletti's three-player defense, although could soon be joined by Bremer.
The Brazilian ace has been sidelined since September, for an injury that required surgery, but could be called back as early as next week's Champions League showdown with Cypriot side Pafos. Although Teun Koopmeiners is another option, having shone in his role as a defender after being a flop in midfield for Juventus.
The tie is a must-win scenario for both teams, otherwise they risk being eliminated from the Champions League group phase before the knockout matches. Pafos are no pushovers, as they showed during a stalemate against Paul Pogba's AS Monaco in their previous Champions League contest.
Bremer's comeback trail
Bremer is unlikely to be risked for what is expected to be a physical battle at defending champions Napoli on Sunday, with the Pafos midweek match or the following weekend's game at highflying Bologna probably his comeback game.
At least for Juventus, Bremer's latest injury may have deterred any potential suitors who showed serious interest to secure his signature during the winter transfer window.
Former Italy international Rugani sustained a muscle problem last month, but could be back in the mix for the trip to Bologna on 14 December
Dusan Vlahovic, Juve's most reliable scorer since he was lured away from Fiorentina in January 2022, also went under the knife today. The Serbia striker was operated on at the Mayo Clinic in London for a high-grade adductor injury to his left leg. If all goes well, the 25-year-old could be back in action sometime in March.
With Polish veteran Arkadiusz Milik having not played a competitive match for over 500 days following a spate of injuries, Spalletti is down to the bare bones in attack. Misfiring summer signings Jonathan David and Lois Openda are his only recognized strikes.
Although American star Weston McKennie and whizzy winger Kenan Yildiz could be employed in attack against Napoli, Pafos, Bologna and then in-form AS Roma on 20 December.
Neymar is on Serie A radar
The Bianconeri have emerged as one of three Serie A giants showing a keen interest in 33-year-old superstar Neymar. The Brazilian recently returned from knee surgery with aplomb, with some mesmerizing displays for Santos FC that included a 17-minute hat-trick.
Serie A agents from Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli are monitoring the former Paris Saint-Germain star who moved back to Brazil following a stint in Saudi Arabia.
Neymar is seeking one last shot at World Cup glory, aiming to impress manager Carlos Ancelotti enough to be selected in the squad to tackle next year's prestigious showpiece.
The slow pace of Serie A would suit Neymar, as he would be playing regularly at the highest level in Europe and can get physically fit.
Despite his advanced age, Neymar's outstanding ability, regular scoring antics, constant contribution of goal assists and natural leadership skills would be a major asset to Juventus. The club are in dire straits in terms of firepower, with David limited to being a goal poacher while unorthodox Openda has pace but neither precision nor power.
