So much hinges on Juventus securing Champions League soccer next term before they can splash the cash, and there could be a mass exodus if they fail to reach Europe’s leading club competition.
Without a top four finish, which is viable with what should be a straightforward win at relegation-threatened Venezia this weekend, surely interim head coach Igor Tudor will go.
Players who fancy a shot at Champions League, or are not in the plans of a new manager, could exit after the FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
Already Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic is seeking an escape route for next term, with the Club World Cup finals a perfect opportunity to showcase his skills and a potential move.
Although Juventus will accept a cut price offer for Vlahovic from Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce.
At the other end of the pitch there could be some changes with Di Gregorio on the radar of Manchester City, and Juve’s back-up ‘keeper Mattia Perin wanted by AS Roma.
Summer revamp
City are plotting a summer overhaul following their shocking season, with their shotstopper Ederson likely to switch to the cash-rich Saudi Pro League during the summer. He came very close to moving to Saudi Arabia a year ago.
As well as Di Gregorio being a target between the sticks for City, Pep Guardiola’s team have shortlisted FC Porto’s Diogo Costa and Torino’s Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
Portugal international Costa is a top choice of Manchester United, and familiar to their boss Ruben Amorim. Indifferent displays from ‘keeper Andre Onana, who has been prone to errors for the Old Trafford side, has resulted in an extensive list of replacements that include Milinkovic-Savic.
Serbia star Milinkovic-Savic, who has a remarkably high record for keeping clean sheets in Serie A, is also attracting interest from AS Roma and Napoli.
Should Di Gregorio be tempted by Guardiola, having snubbed Liverpool last year to join Juventus on a loan with an obligation to buy, then the Bianconeri have lined up a superstar.
Italy No1
Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma, the former AC Milan star who joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer from the Rossoneri in 2021, has been the subject of interest from Juventus.
Both Inter Milan and Juve are long-term admirers of the 26-year-old, but joining Inter having already represented Milan could have its problems. While there remains uncertainty about Champions League soccer at Juve next season, as well as who will be head coach.
Donnarumma's contract with PSG is set to expire in June 2026, but the Ligue 1 champions could try and cash in this summer rather than offer him a new contract extension.
While the focus is on Di Gregorio’s situation, Juventus could also lose second-choice shotstopper Perin if AS Roma’s ‘keeper Mile Svilar leaves.
New pastures
With Di Gregorio proving such a big success with the Turin titans, although has still yet to play for Italy, Perin has been pushed out and is considering a change where he is offered more playing time.
Perin, who this season extended his contract with Juventus until 2027, could be coaxed by potential opportunities this summer at Como and Fiorentina.
Third-choice Juve ‘keeper Carlo Pinsoglio, 35, extended his contract with Juventus until 2026 last September.
He is a big influence both at training and in the dressing room, but only played 247 minutes since the 2017/18 campaign. Pinsoglio could be elevated up the pecking order should Di Gregorio and Perin leave the club.
