There could be a U-turn by the prolific Nigeria international about joining Juve this summer.

A plethora of reasons initially put off the Napoli outcast, but their exploits at the cash-rich 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has signalled that the Turin titans appear to be getting back to their best.

Head coach Igor Tudor has overseen two hefty victories over UAE Pro League club Al-Ain FC and Moroccan heavyweights Wydad AC. However, the litmus test will be how Juventus fare in their final group game against defending champions Manchester City.

Top target

The goals have been pouring in, albeit primarily from players who are unlikely to be sporting a Juve jersey next term. Tudor has a lengthy list of replacements, with Sporting Lisbon Viktor Gyokeres the top target.

Sweden international Gyokeres is also wanted by Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Jonathan David, who will be a free agent at the end of the month, is a back-up plan for Juventus. The Canada marksman has been set a mid-July deadline by the Serie A side to decide if he wishes to join them.

Hot-shot Osimhen is the next back-up target, although former Juve manager may not want to sell the prolific 26-year-old to a rival in the Italian top tier.

Turkish delight

Osimhen, sensational on a season-long loan at Galatasaray with 37 goals in 41 appearances, has a release clause of €75 million (US$87m) to foreign clubs between 1-15 July.

He has already turned down moves to Al-Hilal, Arsenal and Manchester United, while remaining in regular dialogue with Chelsea. Liverpool, who would want a part-cash swap deal, have joined the chase to land his signature.

Juventus have renewed their interest, as his specific clause does not apply for a transfer within Italy and could lure him to Turin for as low as €40m (US$46.4m).
