With the Turin titans in advanced talks with Nottingham Forest about Juventus Next Gen graduate Savona right-back, and having sold central defender Djalo to Turkish giants Besiktas, the club will not wish to be short at the back to tackle the 2025/26 campaign.

Girona’s U21 Spain right-back Arnau Martinez is firmly on Juve’s radar once more. He kicked off his career at Barcelona and joined Manchester City feeder club Girona as a 15-year-old in 2018.

Having played a pivotal role in helping Girona gain promotion to La Liga for the 2022/23 campaign, his impressive performances in the Spanish top tier have garnered plenty of attention from leading European sides.

Girona prop up La Liga after two matches, having conceded eight goals, which could signal a suitable time for Martinez to make a move. He has two years remaining on his current contract.

Arnau played 33 La Liga matches last season, but has only featured for 56 minutes this term.

Juve prepare to test Girona's resolve

The club have slapped an asking price of €14 million (US$16.3m) on their rising star, although cash-strapped Juventus would be looking to bid a much lower figure.

It remains up in the air whether Savona will join former Juve team-mate Douglas Luiz at Forest this term, especially as the 22-year-old signed a contract extension until 2030 in June following his formidable breakthrough season under both Thiago Motta and Igor Tudor.

Former AC Milan ace Djalo, rejected an offer from Spartak Moscow to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas, was sold for €3.5m (US$4.1m). The 25-year-old Portugal international, who arrived from Lille in January 2024 spent the 2024/2025 campaign on loan at FC Porto before being controversially sent back to Juventus.

Juventus among quartet serious about Martinez

Martinez is being monitored by a plethora of clubs including AC Milan, Crystal Palace, Juventus and West Ham United, having caught the eye for his dynamic displays in both La Liga and the Champions League last term.

Although Juventus have other players in their sights to fill the right-back position, which includes veteran Jonathan Clauss, Fiorentina’s Dodo and long-term target Nahuel Molina, Martinez offers versatility.

The Catalan player can also be implemented as a center-back or wing-back, having proved his tactical qualities with over 100 appearances in a Girona jersey.
