Nottingham Forest, who failed in their double swoop for Samuel Mbangula and Timothy Weah during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, are continuing to monitor top-notch players at the Turin titans.

Right-back Nicolo Savona, who was elevated to the senior side from Juventus Next Gen for his maiden full season last term, has been the subject of an audacious bid of just €12 million (US$13.9m) by Forest.

The Serie A side have rejected the offer for the 22-year-old who extended his Juve contract until 2030 in June.

There are ongoing discussions between Juventus and Forest to reach an amicable agreement, with his asking price set at €18m (US20.9m). Forest have yet to kick off any personal terms negotiations, until a deal is within sight.

Savona was promoted to the first team under the then head coach Thiago Motta following impressive pre-season displays, and became a regular starter for Juve.

Savona back in favor under Tudor

He fell down the pecking order after Motta was given the boot and replaced by Igor Tudor, as the tactical approach was tweaked. Recalled following a spate of defensive injuries, Savona drummed up enthusiasm from his latest boss and ended up making 28 Serie A appearances during his breakthrough season.

Selected to tackle the Club World Cup, slotting in for Renato Veiga who returned from his loan spell at Chelsea, the Aosta native suffered an ankle injury in the group game thrashing by Manchester City.

Savona spent two months on the treatment table but has been back in training since mid-August. He was not deemed fit enough to be included in Juve’s squad that polished off Parma 2-0 in their Serie A opener last weekend.
