Recent Form
Igor Tudor's short-term reign at Juventus is going to plan. He narrowly saw off mid-table Genoa in his opening game, squeezed a creditable score draw against AS Roma inside the cauldron of the Stadio Olimpico, but had to rely on two goal assists from Dusan Vlahovic to see off relegation-threatened Lecce 2-1 in Turin.
Parma are also hovering around the wrong end of the table, desperately seeking points to avoid the drop to Serie B. They have picked up five draws on the bounce, with their previous outing ending with an impressive scoreless stalemate against highflying Fiorentina.
As Easter Monday's four Serie A games were postponed following the death of Pope Francis, the Bianconeri will kick off in fifth position in the table. Bologna's 1-0 success over league leaders Inter Milan on Easter Sunday saw them leapfrog Juve into fourth place, but having played one more game.
Head-to-head
Parma have only netted one win from their past 15 Serie A games against Juventus, their 1-0 success in April 2015, and lost 10 games.
Juventus have bagged at least two goals from their past four meetings with Parma. Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah, Juve's US stars, were on target in Turin during October's 2-2 draw.
Team News
Kenan Yildiz (impact injury) was expected to start on the bench for the original match on Easter Monday, but could start. Kolo Muani is biting at the bit for make his first 90-minute appearance under Tudor.
Federico Gatti, Teun Koopmeiners and Samuel Mbangula are on the injury list alongside long-term absentees Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal and Arkadiusz Milik.
Parma head coach Cristian Chivu has seven absentees — Adrian Benedyczak, Matteo Cancellieri, Gabriel Charpentier, Mateusz Kowalski, Valentin Mihaila and Yordan Osorio — but welcomes back winger Pontus Almqvist from suspension.
Players to watch
Juventus - Dusan Vlahovic
Vlahovic, who has yet to score against Parma, has scored nine goals in 25 league games this season. He could line up alongside French international Muani should Tudor switch to a 3-5-2 tactical system if key player Yildiz is benched.
Serbia star Vlahovic, the highest paid player in the Italian top tier, is Tudor's favorite Serie A striker. Although he has yet to score in Tudor's three matches, he has set up a trio of goals.
Parma - Ange-Yoan Bonny
The French forward has found the back of the net six times for the strugglers this season, yet is attracting the attention of Serie A giants AC Milan and Napoli.
The 22-year-old has a golden opportunity to impress scouts inside the cosy Stadio Ennio Tardini, and could even tempt Juventus to monitor him as his price tag would be a bargain compared to the big names that the Bianconeri have on their radar.
Expected line-ups
Parma possible starting XI:
Suzuki; Vogliacco, Leoni, Valenti; Del Prato, Bernabe, Keita, Sohm, Valeri; Pellegrino, Bonny
Juventus possible starting XI:
Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Veiga, Kelly; Weah, Locatelli, Thuram, McKennie, Conceicao; Muani, Vlahovic
Old Juve prediction
Parma 0 Juventus 1
With Parma fighting to save their top tier status and Juve's scoring ability not providing enough goals, the encounter between these draw specialists should be tight. Both managers favor pressing forward with the focus on attacking opponents.
Vlahovic is eager to break his duck under his new boss Tudor, who has built up a solid defense and should sneak maximum points.
